The Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, an hour's drive from Cape Town, has great outdoor venues and unique mountainous landscapes, a pristine coast-line dotted with rocky coves, boulder strewn slopes and tranquil beaches.

• The Harold Porter Botanical Gardens hosts an array of short walks through their floral splendour, up Disa Kloof and Leopards Gorge.
• Stony Point Jackass Penguin Colony is a main-land breeding ground for these unique birds.
• Whaling Station relics and a slipway used in the early 1900's to process the Southern Right Whale.
• A selection of white sanded beaches, prized by surfers and anglers alike.
• Cape Nature Kogelberg Reserve offers a variety of hiking trails meandering along the Palmiet River or through mountainous forests and valleys.
• It is an ideal winter hideout for whale watchers as these marine marvel's visit our coast and display their mating courtship.
